Autumn, Micheldever Woods
This picture was taken on the 11th November 2012. It was a brilliant autumn last year and I kept saying I should be out taking pictures but the timing was wrong and anyhow I had hundreds of pictures still to work on. Then one morning I woke and there was a lovely mist drivting around and a forecast of sunshine, so I leapt out of bed, grabbed the tripod and camera and was up in Micheldever Woods quite early. As the sun rose it was like the beams of light coming through small windows in a cathedral. It was so beautiful and I had the woods to myself for about half an hour. Magic!
A Sunburnt Country
This is a scene just outside Canberra and I named it for the poem by Dorothea Mackellar called "My Country, which is known to all Australians and is almost a national anthem. You can read the poem at
